Papyless has announced that its original Renta! Ani-Comi series Seishun no Yarinaoshi wa Isekai de (Youth Redo in Another World) will begin television broadcast on TOKYO MX from January 2027.

Ani-Comi is Papyless’ motion-comic format that converts manga panels into full-color sequences with limited animation, professional voice acting, and sound design. The approach sits between traditional comics and full anime, delivering movement and performance while remaining faster and less costly to produce than conventional television animation. For this title the production went further by incorporating generative AI on select cuts to increase visual impact and fluidity. Any AI-generated material was then refined with hand-drawn corrections, live-action photography, and editing.

The series follows 26-year-old Fuwa Makoto, who still carries trauma from his high-school years. A mysterious old man hands him an enrollment form for a boarding school that offers free tuition and an open, diverse environment. Makoto arrives only to find that every classmate is a non-human being. The sharp-eyed “Guardian of Death” Thanatos immediately fixates on him with open admiration. In a school full of otherworldly students, the human otaku must navigate whether he can finally claim a second chance at youth and romance with a reaper.

Tomohito Takatsuka voices Fuwa Makoto, with Ryuichi Kijima as Thanatos. Additional cast includes Akinori Egoshi as Metatron, Sohei Horikane as Belphegor, Yohei Matsuoka as Toutetsu, and Kengo Kawanishi as Uriel. The original story is by Haru Takizawa, with manga by Taiyo no Taiyo. Directed by Keita Ando.

The official X account is @Seisyun_isekai, and the original full-color manga continues to be available on Renta!. The January 2027 TOKYO MX slot marks another step for Ani-Comi from smartphone-first vertical viewing onto late-night television while testing generative tools to elevate the visuals.
