Ore to Yu Nii! (俺と悠兄!), the TV anime based on Yuki Nakayama’s manga Shota Oni, will premiere in January 2027, its production committee has announced. A teaser PV and the main staff were revealed alongside the broadcast window.
The anime is directed by Noriko Hashimoto and written by Yuniko Ayana, both of whom worked on the BL anime given, with character designs and chief animation direction by Yumi Kuroiwa, known for A Story About Treating a Female Knight, Who Has Never Been Treated as a Woman, as a Woman, noted in the announcement for Cherry Magic! Animation production is handled by Studio Hibari, which has worked on the given film series. Additional staff include art director Hiroshu Hane, color designer Saki Tada, and music by Yukari Hashimoto and Ruka Kawada, with music production by Pony Canyon.
The source manga runs in Square Enix’s Gangan BLiss under the title Shota Oni, and follows Tsubaki, an elementary school student, and Yu, his older childhood friend, a high schooler. The series depicts the pair’s everyday life, with the anime’s title changing from the original manga’s. The manga has surpassed 850,000 copies in circulation.
The main cast pairs Shinnosuke Tokudome as Tsubaki and Shuichiro Umeda as Yu. The teaser visual, released earlier, shows the two beneath cherry blossoms in full bloom. Ore to Yu Nii! is set to broadcast from January 2027.
