Seven Seas Entertainment announced new BL, manhwa, and danmei licenses during Anime Expo 2026, including Hijiki’s Hate Me, but Let Me Stay – Manager and Otoha, Fargo’s Love is an Illusion! – Superstar, and Arise Zhang’s Legend of Metempsychosis. The announcements were part of the publisher’s Anime Expo 2026 industry panel.
According to Seven Seas, the three titles are scheduled for release in 2027. Hate Me, but Let Me Stay – Manager and Otoha is planned for April 2027 in print and digital formats, Love is an Illusion! – Superstar is planned for May 2027 in print, and Legend of Metempsychosis is planned for June 2027 in print and digital formats.
Hate Me, but Let Me Stay – Manager and Otoha by Hijiki
Seven Seas has licensed Hate Me, but Let Me Stay – Manager and Otoha, a spin-off of Hijiki’s omegaverse BL manga Hate Me, but Let Me Stay. The manga follows Otoha, a beta who performs under the stage name Otoya as the frontman of the rock band DAY BREAK, and Kurashiro Yutaka, an alpha who works as the band’s manager. Otoha and Kurashiro have known each other for years and have maintained a casual physical relationship. Because their secondary sexes do not allow them to become mates in the usual omegaverse sense, both continue to keep their feelings private. Their relationship begins to shift when Kurashiro suspects Otoha may be interested in someone else.
The Japanese title is Kiraide Isasete: Mane to Otoha (嫌いでいさせて マネと響羽). Libre’s official Japanese page presents the title as a spin-off focused on Mane and Otoha, with Otoha listed as DAY BREAK’s vocalist and Kurashiro listed as a capable entertainment-agency manager.
Seven Seas already publishes the main Hate Me, but Let Me Stay series in English. The main series follows Koga Naoto, an omega and single father whose fear of alphas begins to change after he meets Tsuchiya Hazuki.
Love is an Illusion! – Superstar by Fargo
Seven Seas also announced Love is an Illusion! – Superstar, a manhwa spin-off from Fargo’s Love is an Illusion! The title is scheduled for English print release in May 2027.
The series follows Byul, the son of Hye-sung and Dojin from Love is an Illusion! Byul is an alpha, a first-year high school student, and a former idol trainee. He enters school while dealing with family changes, public attention, and rumors about his relationship with his childhood friend.
Seven Seas already publishes the original Love is an Illusion! in English print. The main series follows Hye-sung and Dojin in an omegaverse romance centered on mistaken assumptions about secondary sex and the relationship that develops between them.
Legend of Metempsychosis by Arise Zhang / Fei Tian Ye Xiang
Seven Seas’ danmei license from the same announcement lineup is Legend of Metempsychosis, a novel series by Fei Tian Ye Xiang. The first volume is scheduled for June 2027 in print and digital editions.
Seven Seas describes Legend of Metempsychosis as a high fantasy adventure danmei series. The announcement card also identifies Fei Tian Ye Xiang as the author of Legend of Exorcism and Dinghai Fusheng Records. Seven Seas already publishes Legend of Exorcism: Tianbao Fuyao Lu in English under its danmei line.
