The TV anime adaptation of Kaoruko Miyama’s BL manga Perfect Addiction has revealed its main cast ahead of its July 2026 broadcast in Japan.

Yohei Azakami will voice Akihito Kuji, while Soma Saito will voice Sae Takatsuki. The anime is set to air on tvk, also known as Television Kanagawa, with additional details expected through the anime’s official site and the BALLOON Project social accounts.
For Western audiences, Perfect Addiction is a boys’ love manga from Kaiohsha’s GUSH Comics label. The series follows Akihito, a good-looking college student who is used to casual relationships with women, and Sae, a cool and hard-to-approach beauty who becomes the focus of Akihito’s irritation and attraction. The story starts from a messy, sexually charged rivalry before developing into a BL romance about two men learning what a serious relationship actually means.
The original manga has become one of GUSH Comics’ more visible recent BL titles. It won first place in the romantic comedy category at the 2025 Chil Chil BL Awards and has surpassed 1.5 million copies in circulation across print and digital editions. The series currently has four main collected volumes, with the fourth volume released in Japan in March 2026.
The anime’s staff includes Akashi Uozumi as director, Izumi Tezuka on series composition, Yayoi Tateishi as sound director and Midori Narikiyo on music. Animation production is being handled by Imagica Infos and Imageworks Studio.
The casting also keeps the anime close to the series’ existing audio adaptation. Saito and Azakami previously led the 2024 drama CD version of Perfect Addiction, with Saito voicing Sae and Azakami voicing Akihito. A sequel drama CD for Perfect Addiction 2 is also scheduled to release in Japan on June 26, 2026.
The adaptation is part of the BALLOON Project, a BL-focused animation label connected to Imagica Infos, DNP, Cybird and BLUE RIGHTS. Perfect Addiction is the project’s second announced title, following Saioshi no Gikei wo Mederu Tame, Nagikishimasu! BALLOON uses DNP’s “Light Anime” production method, a streamlined approach designed to adapt manga and character-based works faster and at lower cost than traditional TV anime production.
A first teaser PV for Perfect Addiction was released in May, giving fans a preview of Akihito and Sae’s voices. The official site has also opened with the anime’s key visual, character information and staff credits.
No international release information was included in the announcement. For now, Perfect Addiction is confirmed for a July 2026 broadcast on tvk in Japan.
