JAST BLUE has released Paradise: Musubi, the English version of PIL/SLASH’s first Paradise fan disc, for PC through JAST Store and Steam.
The game was originally released in Japan as Paradise 結-MUSUBI- in 2018. PIL/SLASH’s Japanese materials list it as an adult, full-voice PC release, while the English version is now available through JAST’s BL label.
Paradise: Musubi follows the events of Paradise, PIL/SLASH’s BL suspense visual novel about Azuma and a group of men trapped after what was supposed to be a short island trip. The original game mixed survival, mystery and romance as the cast was cut off from the outside world and forced to face what was happening around them. Instead of retelling the island story, Musubi moves into the aftermath of the original game’s good endings. Each main route follows Azuma after one of the first game’s central relationships has already been established. Mitsugi’s route looks further into his past after he and Azuma begin living together. Matsuda’s route deals with what remains after the events on the island. Takara’s route brings Azuma back to Japan and into the pressure surrounding Takara’s family.
The fan disc also includes side stories for Shimada and Hongou, giving supporting characters from the original game their own additional material. After clearing a route, players can also unlock scenes that return to moments from Paradise from another point of view. Because of that structure, Paradise: Musubi is meant more for players who already finished the original game than for newcomers starting the series here.
Paradise: Musubi features original artwork by Kotomi Youji and scenario writing by LOVE&DESTROY, returning the creative team behind the original game. The release also keeps the Japanese voice cast from the earlier version.
