Nitro Chiral has announced a new project in its Slow Damage line, Slow Damage -another canvas- (working title), an 18+ BL game for PC. The studio revealed the title with a teaser image of a blank canvas on an easel, and confirmed two returning core creators. Scenario is being handled by Kabura Fuchii and original art by Uiro Yamada, the same pair behind the original Slow Damage. Beyond the title, the staff credits, and its nature as an 18+ PC release, no details have been given.
Nitro Chiral has not specified the project’s format, but the returning scenario and art team, along with the series’ history, have led many fans to expect a fandisc-style continuation. The studio has done this before, following DRAMAtical Murder with the fandisc re:connect, which expanded on the original’s routes and endings.
Slow Damage is Nitro Chiral’s fifth boys’ love visual novel, released for PC in Japan in 2021 and localized into English by JAST BLUE in 2022. It follows Towa, a listless artist in the fictional yakuza-run district of Shinkoumi, who paints under the name “euphoria” and throws himself into dangerous situations chasing the raw human desire he wants to capture, across branching routes for its love interests. The game earned a strong reputation for its dark, psychologically intense writing, in keeping with Nitro Chiral’s catalog of DRAMAtical Murder, Togainu no Chi, and sweet pool.
Further details on Slow Damage -another canvas- are expected as development progresses.
