Narise Konohara is marking 30 years as a writer with a three-volume anniversary collection from Libre, bringing together several BL stories that had not previously been released in book form.

The commemorative “30” series includes HUG 30, KISS 30 and LOVE 30. The books were released in Japan across three dates, with HUG 30 launching on December 19, 2025, KISS 30 following on February 19, 2026 and LOVE 30 closing the set on April 17, 2026. Digital editions for all three volumes began distribution on June 1, 2026.

HUG 30 collects “Koi no Katamichi Kippu,” “Utsuru” and “Resonance,” with newly written side stories for each title. The volume features cover and interior illustration by Teku Rin, with additional illustrations by Aki Ueda and Mottasu Tonooka. The book also ties into the comic adaptation of “Koi no Katamichi Kippu,” which was released in two volumes in February.

KISS 30 includes “Happy Life,” “CURSE” and “Otona no Omocha,” also with new extra stories attached to each work. Its illustrations are credited to Hana Inui, Reibun Ike and Cian Hirune.

The final book, LOVE 30, includes “Seishun Kyousoukyoku.” and “true love,” with bonus stories written for both. The volume’s illustrations are by Sawa Sakura and Mita Mikka.

Libre is also running a three-volume purchase campaign. Readers who collect the passwords from all three books can access a newly written story by Konohara through a special site. The new bonus story is available until April 16, 2027, while a separate set of previously uncollected short stories is being made available for a shorter limited period.

The anniversary release is not just a standard reprint project. In an interview with ComiComi Studio, Konohara said the works in HUG 30 were all originally magazine pieces. She explained that some remained uncollected for years because they were difficult to continue, and that revisiting older manuscripts brought its own problems. Some stories were written before smartphones were common, while other scenes had to be reconsidered through a more current lens.

Konohara also said she tried to balance different tones in the first book, including comedy, serious drama and light horror. That range is part of what makes the anniversary set a useful overview for readers who know her through better-known works such as Utsukushii Koto, Ushidorobou, The Vampire and His Pleasant Companions or Planet, but may not have had access to these older magazine stories.

With the full set now available in both print and digital formats, HUG 30, KISS 30 and LOVE 30 give longtime readers a chance to revisit harder-to-find Konohara stories while giving newer readers a clearer look at three decades of her BL fiction.
