BluPetal has announced the English license for Last Heaven, a dark BL manga by Masashi Kumamoto.
The license was revealed through BluPetal’s official X account, which described Last Heaven as a tense, darkly romantic Boys’ Love thriller from &.Emo. Further release details, including format, price, preorder timing, and release date, have not yet been announced.
Last Heaven follows Akira, the son of a yakuza family and heir to its organization. After his father’s death, Akira lives with Shun and Murasaki, two former assassins who were hired to protect him. Their attention can be overwhelming, but Akira has also grown used to the strange comfort of living with them. That everyday life changes after Akira graduates from high school. After being warned that he may be in danger, Akira is kidnapped. Shun and Murasaki rescue him, but the incident pushes the three into a darker situation, turning their already unusual living arrangement into something more violent and intimate.
BluPetal describes itself as a publisher and platform focused on Boys’ Love, shoujo, yuri, josei, Teens’ Love, and gay comics from Japan and Asia. The company’s site also includes an early access waitlist for its platform and sections for shop, news, and community features.
