Chil-Chil held a BL Award 2026 ceremony on June 23, bringing this year’s fan-voted commercial Boys’ Love rankings into an industry event attended by creators, editors, publishers, and partner stores.

The BL Award is Chil-Chil’s annual ranking project for commercial BL works released or updated during the previous year. This year marked the 17th edition of the award, with categories spanning comics, novels, BLCD, webtoons, and several themed comic divisions. The 2026 results were first announced in April, with mememe’s Taro DON’T ESCAPE! taking first place in the Overall Comic category.

According to Sandias, the company that operates Chil-Chil, more than 300 people attended the June ceremony. Voice actors Kazuhiko Inoue and Shoya Ishiguro hosted the event, which opened with remarks and a toast before moving into the award presentation.

Nine of the award’s ten categories were presented during the ceremony: Novel, webtoon, Love Comedy, Emotional, Deep, Fetish, Next Break, Series, and Overall Comic. The program introduced the top three works in each category, while the Overall Comic category also included seven special award selections.

First-place winners included Mingwa’s JINX in the webtoon category, Mo Xiang Tong Xiu’s Heaven Official’s Blessing 4 in the Novel category, Mamita’s 40 Made ni Shitai 10 no Koto 2 in the Love Comedy category, Hi Calorie’s Ai no Ondo wo Oshiete yo in the Emotional category, Ichi Ichikawa’s Silent Noise 2 in the Deep category, Inui Nikuya’s Kowamote no Rinjin ga Omega Datta Toki no Taishoho 2 in the Fetish category, Natsuki Kizu’s Given 10th mix in the Series category, Takomaccho’s Otsukaresama, Kurose-kun Jou in the Next Break category, and mememe’s Taro DON’T ESCAPE! in the Overall Comic category.

Messages from first-place creators were read during the program. mememe, Mamita, and Inui Nikuya also appeared on stage to give speeches, with mememe later sharing the full speech on note.

After the award presentation, attendees joined a smartphone quiz covering topics such as omegaverse, popular attributes searched on Chil-Chil, and the history of the BL Award. The final question asked guests to guess Chil-Chil’s total review count as of June 22, with prizes awarded to high-scoring participants.
