Boys Love Tokyo 2026 opened in Ikebukuro on June 27, and a new preview report is giving fans a closer look inside the large-scale BL event.

The report was released by Animate Holdings through PR Times after a June 26 preview held for people connected to the event. The event previously covered the publisher lineup, participating titles, stage events, goods, and larger industry context, but the new preview offers a clearer look at what attendees can actually see inside Sunshine City Exhibition Hall A and B.

Exhibition Hall B focuses on displays and fan-participation areas. According to the preview report, the area includes nine different exhibition projects, including the BLT Shrine, full-body character panels, emotion-themed displays, rough manuscript and drawing-process exhibits, creator workspace and favorite-item displays, famous-scene displays, comic obi and editor-comment exhibits, a BL preference chart diagnosis, and a sticky-note book corner where visitors can write about the works they love.

One of the most distinctive areas is the BLT Shrine. The pink shrine display features Mero, the owl mascot for BLT2026, and lets fans draw event-themed fortunes about recommended pairings. Visitors can also write messages on original ema-style plaques and add them to the display. The area will also feature ema written by participating creators.

The preview report also shows the event’s full-body panel area, which gathers 81 character panels using newly drawn illustrations from participating works. The illustration theme uses formal outfits decorated with fresh flowers, giving the display a more polished event-visual look while also making the panels work as photo spots.

Another major area is the emotion-themed exhibit, where famous scenes are arranged around different emotional categories. Rather than focusing on one title at a time, the display places moments from multiple BL works into shared spaces, letting visitors move through the genre by feeling and scene type. The preview also points to a fan-service style area where visitors can experience the familiar BL joke of “becoming the wall.”

Exhibition Hall A is built around the event’s café, goods, stage, and signing areas. The Animate Cafe area is selling venue-limited drink sets using newly drawn designs from 40 featured works. Each set includes an acrylic coaster and straw marker, with four drink options and 40 work designs available to choose from.

The goods area includes commemorative Boys Love Tokyo 2026 merchandise using newly drawn and existing illustrations. A venue bonus is also planned, with shoppers receiving one pack of pashakore-style cards for every 5,000 yen spent on goods. A limited visual book featuring newly drawn illustrations from 40 works is also being sold to eligible attendees at the venue.

The stage area includes nine events featuring BL creators, voice actors, actors, and related guests, while the signing area includes in-person signings with 19 creators. The signing events use special acrylic plates for autographs and require dedicated tickets.

Boys Love Tokyo 2026 is organized by Animate, Chuoshoten / ComiComi Studio, and Movic. The event runs June 27 and June 28 at Sunshine City Exhibition Hall A and B in Ikebukuro. According to the official ticket page, some ticket types have already sold out, while same-day tickets are listed as available only if remaining stock is offered.

For English-speaking BL fans, the preview report is interesting because it illustrates how commercial BL can be presented beyond simple goods sales. Boys Love Tokyo 2026 is using panels, creator materials, emotional scene displays, café items, messages, signings, and stage programming to turn a wide range of BL titles into a physical fan event.

The event runs from 10:00 to 19:00 on June 27 and from 10:00 to 18:00 on June 28.
